Yes! Another win! I will never... lose... *Evil laughter*
Really though, they are all great (I read them all every time).

Thinking about it, I don't think random chance is the best way to do these. It eliminates everything about them that might actually matter in a Gladiatorial arena (which, by the way, this isn't really: in a real gladiatorial arena, battles are to the death. This is more of a humorously non-serious sparring match.) and reduces it all to flavor text.

I'd like to fight someone important in a match by sending in plans...

the peoples armor, weapons, and prestige directly affect performance. Its not ALL RNG, but it is to the point of fairness. And you are right, they dont fight to the death, but that was a choice I made so we didn't have to keep creating new ones.

Gilbert vs Sting
“Alright folks, we are back tonight with another exciting battle for fame and glory! Best of all, your host with the most, your shouter for the hour, Mr. Swanky is back!!! Now let’s get to the real action. In one corner, standing tall and proud is our beloved bulborb Gilbert! On the other side, laughing maniacally and forming a creepy smile is Sting! Let’s see how this goes down, LOWER THE GATE!”
*The horn blows and the gates lower.*
Sting slinks into the earth, and Gilbert begins to gear up for a charge. Gilbert watches closely as the whiptail tremor grows steadily closer to him. Gilbert begins a desperate charge at the mound of rising sand, and then gets launched up into the air. The scorpion is on top of him and begins to swing his claws violently at the poor upside down bulborb. The bulborb manages to recover, but gets stung in the process. The bulborb stumbles and falls onto the floor of the arena unconscious.
“Well folks, it looks like Sting has secured another victory with that nasty venom of his.”
Winner: Sting
+30 Petals
+1 CAP
+1 Prestige
Volug vs Evergreen
“And we are back with another exciting battle! On one side of the arena, we have the feared and talented Volug! Sitting quietly on his stump on the other side we have Evergreen! These two competitors have quite the record, so lets see how they do against one another! LOWER THE GATES!”
*The horn blows, and the gates lower*
Volug stands at the edge of the arena, taking in his surroundings. Evergreen smashes through the entrance and begins to charge at the wolf. The wolf sees the oncoming attack and jumps in the air over the tree ent’s head, swiping his paws vigorously at the back of Evergreens head. The blow successfully staggers the giant ent, and the wolf begins to run up Evergreens right arm. Just as Volug nears the top of the tree Ent’s arm, Evergreen turns all of his weight over and begins to roll toward his right side. Poor Volug gets pinned under the massive tree, and is unable to continue the fight.
“Talk about barking up the wrong tree! That poor wolf didn’t know what hit him! What a close victory, but in the end it was Evergreen!”
Winner: Evergreen
+30 Petals
+1 CAP
+1 Prestige
Bok vs Joan Do Lee
“Once more we are here at the arena, getting pumped up for an exciting battle between two challengers! On one side, we have the massive Ice Golem named Bok. On the other side, we have the master of Pie-Kwon Dough, and protector of all things sweet, Joan Do Lee! Let’s see these two fight it out, LOWER THE GATES!”
Joan Do Lee begins running up a pillar that is placed near the center of the arena, while Bok strides in and preps his massive ice fists. The Pie-Kwon Dough expert stands atop the column, and makes his Candy Clones on the top of the other 4 pillars surrounding Bok. Bok gets a slight grin on his face, and begins waving his massive hands around. The destructive power of the hands is enough to send all 5 pillars tumbling down! Joan Do Lee gets caught in the debris as it goes flying everywhere, and Joan goes unconscious.
“That was short and sweet! *The Aquaneers in the crowd laugh hysterically, while the Dessert Army looks unamused.* It seems that Joan Do Lee underestimated his opponents judgement, and the result left him crumbling! *The Dessert Army spectators get up and yell “BOO! YOUR JOKES REEK! BRING BACK SYLVESTER!* Well, anyways… The winner is Bok!”
Winner: Bok
+30 Petals
+1 CAP
+1 Prestige
Crawdad vs Mr. Fungi
“Ok folks, prep for the last and final fight. On one side of the Arena, we have the guy who just can’t seem to pay the bills, the guy who always stays up late, the guy who can never get a day off… CRAWDADDDDDD!!! *The tired and overworked Crawdad slinks into the arena.* And on the other side, we have the Fungus we just can't seem to get rid of, Mr. Fungi! Without wasting any more time, lets see what happens! LOWER THE GATES!”
*The horn blows, and the gates lower.*
Mr. Fungi begins to obliviously wander around aimlessly. Crawdad sees this and calmly approaches him. Crawdad raises his claw out, and Mr. Fungi runs right into it on accident. “Ohhh… that looked like it hurt.” The strange fungus gets back up and begins to run around in circles some more, as Crawdad preps to dig. Crawdad digs a tiny hole right in front of Mr. Fungi, and Mr. Fungi trips. Mr. Fungi comes toppling down, hitting the ground and getting knocked out.
“Well, looks like Mr. Fungi couldn’t STAND UP to the challenge! The clear cut winner here is CRAWDAD!”
Winner: Crawdad
+30 Petals
+1 CAP
+1 Prestige

And you are right, they dont fight to the death, but that was a choice I made so we didn't have to keep creating new ones. No, I expected those would effect it (although I don't think using prestige is a good idea; it just makes the winners win more), I'm talking about the actual characters. Specifically, that their natural abilities (Bok's strength, Joan's speed, etc) make no difference. I could literally make a Wogpole, one who's never fought in his life, fight the most experienced warrior ever, one who'd probably be an Elite in the main game, and if they both had 0 prestige and no upgrades, they would have an equal chance of winning. And that just doesn't make sense to me. On a related note, why do the characters have abilities (Unfeeling, First Strike) if you don't account for them in any way except flavor text? sorry, I got a little heated there. But the point I'm trying to make is, the physical attributes of the characters should make a difference in the arena. And if this weren't a daily thing, I'd ask if we could give our characters tactics, like in battle (we could always have a sort of "standing order", I suppose, like Gilbert always starting with a stab before retreating immediately).

I agree with you on the prestige part. I also see your point in why they have abilities. Just was talking to me about this as well, and I think you are both right... we need a better system. Just was proposing "stances" like in Final Fantasy, where you select 1 of multiple stances like "Go all out" or "Hang back and attack from afar" and this would help you.
If you want me to make the arena more complicated, I would be happy to account for this type of stuff. I agree that making winners win more doesn't make much sense, and we need a way to utilize their abilities in the arena. I think I am gonna make a separate section in one of the question areas where we can decide EXACTLY how we want to handle the arena, all together.

I think adding in a set "Con" and "Pro" system of generic stats, such as speed and attack for each character would be useful, like Pen said.
