Clay can't be gathered in it's hardened state, and crawmadine can't be harvested in it's refined state. They all have to be converted with a separate project. It's just like stainless steel.
Clay only takes twelve days to harden after the project it's used in hardens, or you can harden it separately.

Wait, are you trying to build a stone quarry or a leaf harvester? A stone quarry takes 50 days, and you have the time listed for a leaf harvester. Cost is right, though.
