Okay, so there are a lot of issues, but don't worry, we'll work through them. Everyone messes up when they first start.
First off, your general needs to have a species. Don't make it to much more powerful than a Gatling Groink. You general cannot be a boss creature.
Location... Ireland? This is the Pikmin universe. It can be anywhere in a Pikmin map except for caves... Make sure you specify the location, for example, it could be at the impact sites landing zone.
Troops: You should start with 50 ordinary units which are small weak creatures like sheargrubs and pikmin.
You also start with five specials. They can be stronger troops with special abilities. Like a full grown bulborb.
You should only start with 300 petals, petals are money used for trading or getting projects done.
Starting base defense should be something natural to your base location theme. Don't make it ridiculous.
You should only start with 1000 units of Iron and nothing else in terms of resources. You can gather more later.
Okay, Projects. While you don't have to have all six running, "Water" is not a material you can gather. Iron is, but you need to specify how much your are gathering and how long it will take you to gather that amount. You can find gathering times in the trade board, in the topic building materials.
I highly recommend using your other projects for research, building PGCs, building warmachine or weapons, or at the very least gathering resources.
Finally, your commander log is not for your "commander" your general and commander are the same person. This section is actually for your general to put his thoughts down about anything.

Okay, you forgot to increase your ordinaries to 50, and the gathering time for iron is 150 per 6 days. I still recommend building war machine sir something like that or at least filling up your projects with resources gathering but it is your choice.

Okay. What kind of warmachine are you building? A tank? And he much iron are you spending to make it? It takes 2 petals per day as well so that would be forty. Fix that and your all set.

Crap I made an error and moussed something. You forgot your commanders species and how much iron your putting in to build the tank. I'd say around 100 is a good amount.

Oh, just put in parathasis next to your general. That bottom section is for you to write in what your commander is saying. If you confused look at someone else's log or application to help clarify.
