4 captains on the planet at the same time, but they don't know the others are there, you play the same day once for each captain, and after they switch to a new area, they all have different Pikmin, so one can't do the same things as another. For example, if we count the Pikmin existing and say, Green Pikmin one captain would have reds and rocks, another yellows and whites, another blues and pinks, and another greens and purples. It would give the days a rush, as if you don't get something with a certain captain done in one day you have to wait 4 days to continue with that thing, unless you end up in the perfect spot at the end of the day where another type of Pikmin could carry it the rest of the way.
Green Pikmin would be resistant to acid, which needs a suit upgrade for the captain to go through. They would also have spikes, and to pluck them you would need yet another suit upgrade. White Pikmin can spit acid like in the shorts, but green Pikmin can do it faster, and overall are more efficient for this. Bulbmin lose fire resistance, but can go outside now, Bearmin are bulbear Bulbmin, and regain fire resistance, along with explosion resistance and Acid Resistance. Orange Pikmin can survive explosions, and would now be the only Pikmin that can carry bomb rocks, (it went from yellows, to none, to all, to oranges now) Cyan Pikmin have glow caps on their heads, and would not have an onion like purple and white Pikmin, they also act like the ultra bitter spray, freezing an enemy when eaten, they can also make an icy path on water, so other Pikmin can cross. Brown Pikmin also don't have an onion, and can dig tunnels from certain points to other certain points Silver Pikmin infect Bulborbs and Bulbears to make Bulbmin and Bearmin Gold Pikmin have Venus fly traps on their heads, and sometimes eat other Pikmin, making them good for small groups, but not the best for large groups of Pikmin Black Pikmin are resistant to ink, which comes from certain sources, such as inky blowhogs
Now for the final representation of what Pikmin the different captains would get.
C1: Red, Rock, Silver, White C2: Yellow, Pink, Bulbmin, Purple C3: Blue, Orange, Bearmin, Cyan C4: Green, Black, Gold, Brown
Enemies:
Crystal Bulborb: leaves a trail of Crystal behind them, sometimes sealing up doors
Inky Blowhog and Acid Blowhog: you get it, take fiery Blowhog and replace it with acid or ink
Squoctopus: Squid Boss, needs Black Pikmin
Areas:
an old factory, with rising and lowering Acid, Whites, and Greens are needed for most of it, however there is a sub area for captain 2 to explore, that requires pink Pikmin
A desert area, browns are most beneficial for here.
A regular forest, nothing too special here.
A mountainous area, pink Pikmin are very important here.

since Pikmin 3 actually
also, here are some unused Pikmin
Whipmin: Whiptounge Bulborb Bulbmin, they lose electricity resistance but gain a tounge, working for ranged attacks Grey Pikmin: if a pikmin is hit with ink it either dies or becomes a grey pikmin, which has no abilities, and is weak.

Yeah, I remember you. You were one of those guys that everyone called "the trouble maker", not anywhere near as bad as Mushroom Propeller. *Shudders at the mere thought of his name*
When I first joined in 2011, I got my own special rank for being the fiftieth member.

The only things I want to see in Pikmin 4 is a huge variety of bosses like the second game with different types of snagrets like one that can fly or the return of Emperor Bulblax and other things like that. I also want caves I'm just gonna list a few ideas of bosses below: Some sort of giant creature that is so big that you can only see its feet at first until you start bringing it down Spacious Wraith (Giant liquid creature that latches onto your ship near the end of the game, this causes a fight in the spaceship) Air-Force Snagret *Couldn't think of a name* (Snagret that is wearing the Flight Dome treasure on its head allowing its head *major weakspot* to be protected, can fly) Motherly Anode Beetle (Giant beetle that shoots a large electric zap at the pikmin, requires yellows, appears in the Voltric Caverns) Permafrost Piranha (Giant piranha that swims in a lake with an ice cover. You run on the ice because the piranha is breaking through the ice as it chases you, you do not have blues, you need to get to a generator on the other side of the lake that has a loose wire poking into the wayer and power it with yellows, the piranha will be stunned and then you attack, after it dies it spits out the blue onion)

I really would like to see caves come back. Caves gave pikmin 2 a mysterious, isolated, and all around darker feel than pikmin 1.

Man, your pikmin ideas are perfect for my boss ideas XD 1. you use your brown pikmin to create a small cave where the beasts head is, then you attack, then the cave rumbles and starts to collapse so you have to run to the geyser and go back to surface and repeat (the giant beast will repeatedly try to attack brown pikmin as a priority) 2. you got the basic idea 3. you have to weigh it down first, then you knock the hat off to attack 4. that is very true 5. cyan pikmin could be a major part of the fight by creating ice paths on the parts of the frozen lake that was eaten by the piranha

I really feel like parasite pikmin should be a salmon color.

@blood:
problem is a salmon pikmin would sound like a fish pikmin, which would be highly misleading and the player might not suspect to use it on a bulborb or bulbear
@hoho:
5: what if it spat out pieces of the ice it ate into the air, causing it to come down and essentially be meteors, which could fall on the pikmin, killing them, or break the ice, causing other pikmin to fall in the water.
