In the dark of night, the whirs and clicks of hundreds of mechanical legs made their implacable way from their home base. They had conferred and decided on their course of action, and they would carry it out with ruthless efficiency. Within two hours, they arrived at their destination. Here, a small contingent of 50 of the mechanical Pikmin broke off from the main force, as well as the whole 60 Dweevils. The rest would remain behind in case they were needed, but they expected, as much as machines can expect, that they wouldn't. The smaller contingent moved as stealthily as the hiss of their steam vents and speed would allow, and partially by luck managed to make it to the resource storage area. Toting SMGs, the Pikmin stood guard as the Dweevils began to pilfer. They started with the Petals.
A sentry Pikmin walked around the perimeter of the ceramic enclosure that served as his army's main wall. Something seemed more ominous about the empty blackness this night, something that set his nerves on edge and made him wish for a weapon to grip. The night seemed to be taunting him, each sound seemed more dangerous. The quiet rumbles of the waking Bulborbs, the light trills of a disturbed Honeywisp, the clank and hiss of steam powered machines, the splash of a hunting Wollywog, the...
wait.. The sentry thought. There were no machines set up in this area, certainly nothing steam-powered! That could only mean...
"WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!!" The sentry shouted, running off to warm the others.
The mechanical Pikmin turned at the loud noise, and one raised its gun to shoot down the sentry. However, they soon had more problems, as they were assaulted with a barrage of Rock, Purple, and Tree Pikmin. They turned and fired at the defenders, gunning them down without fear. Lives were lost on both sides, but then something turned the tide of the battle. One Pikmin, mostly unnoticed so far, got into close quarters with a mechanical one, and subtly big it. Almost instantly, the mechanical Pikmin dropped its gun, and turned to the one beside it. That Pikmin, never expecting its comrade would turn on it, went down easily. And now there were three of the shambling, Zombie-like Pikmin. And now the tide turned even more in favor of the defenders, as the machines took many precious seconds reevaluating this snag in their plan. And as they computed, they were cut down and converted. In short order, they were all gone. The Dweevils, possessing speed and needing less computing time due to their instructions, fled with the resources they had taken, and they sustained virtually no losses.
As as the mechanical creatures fled, they were pursued by the defenders. However, the defenders were generally ineffective at range, and so again few casualties were suffered, though several more Pikmin were downed. The defenders had defended, and the attackers had suffered because of it.
(I realize I didn't follow either of your battle plans fully, but I think I did okay. Results will be up in a second.)
