The First Event: Riding

"Welcome one and all to the greatest sporting events this side of the Twilight River! I'm your host, Mr. Swanky! Things are looking hot today with the Riding Competition by the beach! Fences are set up on the race track while the waves splash on the sands! This will be a great game! Right Lily!?"

"Princess Buttercup is here! Wooooo!"

"Wooooo!"

As the two commentators continue cheering obnoxiously, the competitors ride in on their mounts. First up, a Vegan Pikmin adorned with flowers rides on Sylvester. She waves around and tosses glitter around. It's Princess Buttercup! Following along, an Ice Cream Pikmin also named Sylvester rides in. He looks kind of serious and suddenly, a tension is felt between the two Sylvesters. Following along, a Blue Pikmin Rider and a White Chaosmin ride simple Bulborbs in as they wave around. George and Dillon are ready! Then a Bulbgon comes flying in while a rider on top of it named Meri pets it. Wait, there is one last entry. Gohma, the Ground Arachnode, comes in trying to hold onto the Bulborb with interesting results...

"How odd! It seems that the Western Desert Empire didn't want to participate in the first round! Well, that's too bad, but let's continue on. The riders and their mounts look simply excited for this fight!"

The riders get to the starting line as the tension builds...GO! The racers are off! Meri and George are racing nearly next to each other while the Bulbgon flies quickly. The two Sylvesters are also pretty close and are quickly taking over the Blue Rider Pikmin. The White Chaosmin passes through the middle of the two Sylvesters, but is hit by a glitter blast from Princess Buttercup! The Rider catches up on the two Sylvesters and passes quickly while going past Meri. Dillon charges through past the Sylvesters again as the group comes up to the fence jumping.

The Blue Pikmin Rider leaps over the fences easily, but overhead is flown right past by the Bulbgon Rider. The White Chaosmin doesn't have experience jumping over fences and is flung right off while jumping! The Sylvesters are tied up again as they jump over the fences. It's now the final sprint as the riders and their mounts charge ahead! The Bulbgon Rider and Blue Pikmin Rider are running at nearly identical speeds with the Sylvesters close behind! They all run as fast as they can and a sudden burst of flames appears around the Bulbgon! It is launched forward through the finish line!

"Wow! Let's watch that again in slooooow motiooooon!" The camera replays the fire blast as Meri charges on into first while the Blue Pikmin Rider comes running in second and Sylvester charges through, dragging Princess Buttercup along with the other Sylvester flying through the air behind her.

"That seemed kind of violent..."

"That's just part of the unexpected fun!"

"Maybe we should protest these..."

As the two continue talking, Dillon comes through the finish. Coming a little while after, Gohma dangles off of the Bulborb as it trots along over to the finish. "And the results are in!"

The contestants are ranked up on a large screen.

2nd Place: George Silver Medal +1 CAP
3rd Place: Princess Buttercup Bronze Medal +1 CAP
4th Place: Sylvester
5th Place: Dillon
6th Place: Gohma
